Welcome to this Revit Advanced Techniques for Importing CAD Drawings course. What we’re going to do in this course is take you through all of the advanced techniques that you can utilize to both import and link CAD drawings into your Revit projects. We’ll also take you through all the little steps and tips and tricks in all the dialog boxes where you do link these CAD drawings into a Revit Project. Now you’ll notice on the screen at the moment I’ve done a blank Revit project, so this is where we’ll be starting from in this particular course, you can see the name of the project, it’s off the screen it’s 00_Simple Building Project.rvt the rvt file being the Revit project file.

And what we’re going to do is take you from this point here, all the way through to importing and linking a CAD drawing and utilizing that CAD data to start developing your Revit model. So let’s get into Revit, let’s start linking and importing our CAD drawings, and let’s get those techniques going so that we can actually have a look at how quick, easy and simple it actually is, to link and import a CAD drawing into Revit, but more importantly, generate that model from the CAD drawings in Revit as well.
