In this series of Revit tutorials, you will learn how to use general and consistent pattern-based models to create a custom Revit exterior glazing system. We’ll start with the general modeling pattern, where we use a step-by-step approach to creating each of the spider clip components that hold the glass panels together. Once all the geometry is done, we will set some parameters that will help us control the size of the clip and also make it flexible according to the thickness of the glass we want.

We will then work on a pattern-based modeling model in which we insert the glass panel, waterproof sealant, structure as well as spider clips to be part of the page pattern. By completing this Revit tutorial, you will create a unique and parametric exterior glass system that you can use for skylights, curtain walls, booths and even exhibitions. You will also be able to work with different project templates and adjust parameters. Required software: Revit 2015.
